About
Background of Society:
A steering committee of youth and adults was created to work with the newly formed non-profit “Maple Ridge Youth Centre Society “which was founded originally on September 24, 1992. A consultant was initially hired to work with different groups to produce specifications and an implementations Strategy for what a first of a kind Youth Centre would look like and how this centre could operate in Maple Ridge, British Columbia Canada. On August 29, 1994, the Charities Division, a part of Revenue Canada granted the society permission to accumulate funds over a number of years for this specific project. In partnership with the District of Maple Ridge at the time construction began in 1999 and the newly built “Greg Moore Youth Centre” was completed in October 22 2001.
